Inappropriate Appearance
Be decently dressed. Improper clothes and grooming can jeopardize an interview. Casual clothes are definitely out. Your objective should be to dress smartly and nails should be cut, hair well groomed and shoes polished.
Poor Communication Skills
Take care of what you SPEAK. Take care of your communication skills. If you are not very comfortable speaking in English, answer questions comfortably in Hindi. Try to maintain a combination of English & Hindi in this case.
Poor Performance or Preparation
PREPARE.Prepare for the interview, study the company website and know what job they are interviewing for. Lack of eye contact or extreme gestures or movements can really turn off employers.
Negative Attitude Display
Be POSITIVE. Hiring managers are turned off by unenthusiastic, bored or arrogant behavior. Using profanity, acting cocky, or putting down a previous boss will quickly turn off an interviewer.
Misrepresentation of facts
Be HONEST. It is advisable to avoid any misrepresentation of facts or suppression of any information. It would be very embarrassing for all concerned if you are caught.
Failing to Confirm Interest
Show your INTEREST. After the employer has finished explaining the details of the organization and the job description, it is your responsibility to reaffirm your interest and ask what the next step is.
